Rainbow Home
Gharaunda Vikasaarth Rainbow home in collaboration with Rainbow Home India (RHI) Program provides non-custodial residential, comprehensive, long-term care for children formerly on the streets through pioneering a new model for inclusion and integration of street children.
Presently 50 such children in Patna are being nurtured under the Rainbow Home Program in India. The organization’s aim is to reach out to many more children living and working on the streets in order to reclaim their lost childhood and to bring them up into becoming responsible, caring and contributing citizens of this country.
The intervention aims to protect, care for, educate and empower our most disadvantaged children. These include children who live on city streets; orphaned, abandoned, and violence-affected children; working children; children of farmer suicide and starvation families; and children of sex workers. The program strives to ensure that these children access their rights in loving, open and safe residential care homes in government schools and buildings; and for them to grow into happy, responsible and caring citizens.
